As the 45th anniversary of Xanadu is rolling closer, I decided to redo my old 2-DVD-R “mix-tape” set, Xanadu Rarities, containing all the Xanadu videos I gathered from YouTube. This time, I didn’t restrict myself to 2 DVD-R’s and reached for 3; with the “extra space” I suddenly have, I added some stuff I had to leave off from the past set and add a few new ones. Don't worry, I did not forget Xanadu On Broadway as it deserves it’s own freaking box set!

I won’t go into the contents in detail here (maybe for a future page in the XPS site), so I’ll post the back covers of each of the discs/volumes. Each of these videos can be seen and downloaded. From there, I did a video conversion, used a AVStoDVD program to get it all in order and burn it. As for the covers. Nero CoverDesign is still free and you can get some DVD-R slim-case covers either through Walmart or Amazon.

Important note: I’m not selling this set at all and it is for personal use. So why am I doing this round of show and tell? First, I’m a physical media freak (sure, streaming is nice and convenient, but how much can you trust “it” when the system and power goes down and all the corporate politics going on in the background). Second, why let those Star Wars/Trek have all the fanboy fun.

BTW: Each of these discs has a “Introduction” at the start; they are pieces from MCA’s DiscoVision laserdics format I found on YouTube. “Outroduction” contains the ‘When In Hollywood….” slate that Universal Studios places at the end of all their old movies…..included a GP rating card from MPAA. Why Not, Indeed?!
