What's REALLY behind this Marathon jazz?

Since announcing this Xanadu Marathon, the common reaction/question I've been getting lately is about material, as in 'How in the world are you going to fill up 24 hours with simply a movie and a single disc soundtrack?' and 'Where the (blank) DID you get all that material?!'

If there are fingers to point for this madness, it would have to be Robert Porter, the man behind the site Jeff Lynne Song Database! This site is an exhaustive researched timeline of the recorded history of Lynne; The Nightrangers, Idle Race, The Move, ELO and beyond.

As part of his mountainous research, he collected many Xanadu recordings that lead to his mix-tape project Ultimate Xanadu that near the end totaled 20 CD-R's. When he found out of my Xanadu site, he offered me a copy as part of a tape trading deal and I agreed. I have taken over this project since and this set is now just ten minutes shy of completing volume 26. THIS is where the (blank) this marathon came from...well, 90 percent of it, that is.

Therefore, Robert does deserve credit for supplying the goods for this goofball project.
