The Current Mystery Behind XanaduPreservation

For the last week or so, I've been reading about an increasing amount of take down notices being slapped all over YouTube based on copyright infringement claims. One of the big culprits behind this mess is Universal Music Enterprises and they have been very busy in this regard...which leads to my Xanadu YT channel, XanaduPreservation.

Up until 3 months ago, I had access to this channel and then it cut me off. I have since gotten a vague notice that it was due to excessive copyright claims from, you guessed it, UME. I have never claimed ownership to those clips and never tried to monetized any of them, but it looks like this wasn’t enough for UME.

I can’t say they have shut it down because the channel is still there and, it seems, making enough money for the label and studio. So, you got me, other than they are getting greedy in funds and power. Those who have the copyrights have all the funds and power. Please excuse me for shouting like a drunk Bernie Sanders in an Irish bar…..you get the idea by now.

At this point, the future of the XanaduPreservation channel is still there….not really up in the air and not really in a holding pattern, but at this point in in the intersection of copyright, fandom and politics, who the hell knows.

Regardless, if there’s any rare Xanadu videos I bump into, I might put it in my personal channel, though I’ve pretty much exhausted that goldmine and I don’t think I’ll bump into anymore. Make another Xanadu channel? It's bad enough with the copyrighted mudslinging going on in my other account.

Welp, I’ve gone on long enough. Enjoy the unofficial Xanadu channel until kingdom come or when the internet is totally outlawed by our 2025 version of the administration due to hay fever.
