The Maxim was, without a doubt, a product of its time when it opened in 1978. It might have been much smaller than the old MGM Grand, but it out 'mod' that big old grand from across the street.

 

I actually stayed at this place and had my own room, too, complete with a wallpaper of the Strip hanging over my bed. There's a picture of that room elsewhere on this page.
