THE NEON MUSEUM
One of the best things that happened in Vegas within the past five years was the opening of The Neon Museum. A 
small but nice place where anyone can go face to face with those fabulous old Las Vegas signs before the rust 
eats them whole.

MOB MUSEUM
Another ‘best thing’. The mob and their influences on this town may have been over played in documentaries and 
Martin Scorsese movies, but this three level interactive museum does a fine job tracing the history and the 
dichotomy between the mob and law enforcement. You get your money’s worth here.

UNCLE JACK'S VERY VINTAGE VEGAS
I’m usually leery of real estate web sites (all ads and nothing else), but ‘Uncle’ Jack LeVine’s side of the ‘net has 
many other functions; local news, neighborhood meeting notices, and events on mid-century preservation.

CLASSIC LAS VEGAS
A funky little blog on what’s going on, old & new, in this city. Differently for the residents and the hard core historical 
fans! They even size up each episode of CBS Network’s ‘Vegas’ show.

LAS VEGAS RADIO HISTORY 1940-2011
Just bumped into this. There are many regional radio history sites all over the internet, but not so much 
representing Vegas. This small one pager does a good job covering what’s out there in old Vegas radio.

ALAN HASS
Alan Hass has been writing wonderful books on mid-century architecture since 1985 with the title that probably 
started this whole mid-century revival, ‘Googie: Fifties Coffee Shop Architecture’. It was obvious that he was going 
to do a book on Vegas sooner or later and, in 1993, ‘Viva Las Vegas: After-Hours Architecture’ became his 
fabulous LV tome. He continues to lecture and write all over the place and there are two web sites to keep tabs on 
him: Blog and web site

LAS VEGAS CASINO DEATH WATCH
As the old was being replaced with the new in a rapid pace in the early ‘00, Nick decided to keep tabs and warn old 
‘old’ Vegas fanboys like me with this site. As this city is currently recovering and once again sheading its skin from 
2008, this one remains essential.

FIVE HUNDY BY MIDIGHT
A goofy weekly podcast on Las Vegas. More on current activities and news but it is not a bad little show.

LAS VEGAS STRIP HISTORICAL SITE
A good site with detailed and rare information. Unfortunately, the gentleman who runs it is reeeeally paranoid and 
has fashioned this site that it can only be visited with Internet Explorer (!!!!). If you don’t have it and go beyond the first 
page here, your computer will get caught in a loop and you have to turn it off to get it unstuck. Gee….thanks?! 
(and, nope, I don’t visit THIS one often)

LAS VEGAS SUN (Las Vegas history page)
Even though they are reduced to a sub-section in their old newspaper rival Review-Journal, The Sun still remains a 
consistent Vegas staple. Even though this web section hasn’t been updated since 2007, it one of the finest Vegas 
History pages out there.

LAS VEGAS ZINE LIBARAY
Once located inside Emergency Arts Center in the downtown area, is now inside UNLV Marjorie Barrick 
Museum of Art on South Maryland Parkway.

FRANKIE’S TIKI ROOM
Do old fashioned tiki bars and Las Vegas mix? They sure do. Especially if they’re open 24 hours a day!

PARADISE PALMS
In the land of the current living, there are those who prefer the stylish past and this amazing Las Vegas 
neighborhood is a prime example! Also read the fine Las Vegas Sun article on the dedicated residence.

SIN CITY PHOTOGRAPHY
DeviantArt is a web site where you can post your art and photos. This group specializes in original photos of Las 
Vegas. If you got some interesting LV photos and/or want to see some, stop by here.

LAS VEGAS HISTORICAL SOCIETY
A site and store-front museum that is dedicated to this city's history. The site itself has an interesting photo 
collection through the decade.

LANDMARK HOTEL & CASINO FANSITE
Marc Wagner has very fond memories of this fabled and fallen 'Space Age' hotel & casino and has updated his old 
site with a new address and material. Marc is always looking for Landmark related material, so if you got any, swing 
by the site and contact him from there.

LAS VEGAS, DAMNIT! (YouTube version)
As you might have guessed, I have combed through YouTube to find choice Vegas videos and put them in a

KSNV VIDEO VAULT
KSNV Channel 3 in Las Vegas has done a series of videos of old local news of Vegas past for their local news 
broadcasts. Quite a good and interesting collection thus far.

CONTAINER PARK
One of the funkier places that opened in the downtwon area is the CONTAINER PARK, a small collection of stores, 
small restaurants with a park and a performance stage with a fire breathing preying mantis.

LAS VEGAS ARTS DISTRICT
The ruff and tumble area between downtown and Stratosphere has now been officially designated as an 'art 
district' and it is a nice funk place....here's hoping Starbucks and high rent won't be a kill joy for this place.
